EI~RGENCY AREAS, the present automobile owned by the~Village of NJayfield and used by the Police Department has been severely damaged in an accident and it w~ul.d not- be economically feasibly to have the same repaired and it would not be wise for the Village to be without a police automobile dur-:ng the time required to make such repairs; and Irs~F~AS, there trvuld be great danger to, the Village of 1~7ayfield and its inhabitants if there were no police automobile available during the tuns that it would.ta~ to advertise for competitive bids for the purchase of a neva automobile and therefore an emergency exists making it necessary to waive the requirements of compet~.tive bide and ~IEREAS, diligent efforts have been made to obtain-informal bids for the purel~a~ of a new police automobile and an offer has been obtained from the Euclid Ford Compa~T to duplicate the present police automobile of the Village upon..exchanging the present automobile and payment of the additional sum of X850.00; and ~FiEREAS, in the opinion of Council, such bid is the lowest and best that could possibly be obtained. NOI~7 THEREFORE BE IT ORDA 1TIED BY THE COUNCIL OF THr; VILLAGE OF g9AYFIELD, CUY~:HOGA. COUNTY, .THAT:: ` _ _ _.. _ Sec.-1. Council deems an emergency to exist and therefore,,.wthout advertisement for-competitive bids; authorizes the A7ayor and the Clerk to enter into a contract with Euclid Ford Company to .purchase anew 1955 Ford Custom73ne Country Sedan9 equipped,.-with hot water heater, defrosters, : electric directional signals, and five tires, in all respects duplicating the present automobile now owned by the Vi].inge of T~ayfield, upon the payment to the Euclid Ford Company of tiie:sum of ~850,~0,:,plus the. present police automobile. Sec. 2. The Nk:yor; arid:: tYae~: Clerk are -hereby authorized and empowered to execute :all =such documents and do all th~gs~ necessary .to carry out the provisions of this ordinance. ~~-_ - - . .c- Sec~3. This ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure, .necessary for the umnediate'. preservation of: -the .public peace, safety, health and welfare of the Village of Mayfield''and ~ its inhabitants, in order that the necessary equipment be obtained to insure proper police protection, and ,said ordinance shall go into effect and be in farce immediately upon the date of its passage.
