THAT :. .- - _ . - - - - - - - ~ - - _ - - - ... _ . - . - Sec. 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. x.79 entitled: "An Ordinance to peal Ordinances. Nos. ?~02 and Ja27 and to provide for the compensation of the Marshal and. Chief of Po]ace and Special Policemen" as amended by Ordinance No. 518,_is hereby amended to read as follows; "Sec, 3. Compensation. The following compensation shall be pai.d_from and after ~ariuary lst, 1956, but may be changed at any time by Council by Ordinance or Resolutions Marshal orfChief of Police X5,000.00 per year, Regular Policemen - at the rate•of X4300.00 per year Special Policemen - X1.50 for each hour during which _ he serves as such on assignment ~• by the Mayor or Chief of Police. The total number of hours to be served by all Special Policemen during any one week shall not exceed 32, but_ Council may change the maximum number of hours at any time by Ordinance or Resolution. Provided, however, that the Mayor, at his discretion, may authorize the employment of Special Policemen in excess of 32 hours a week and the employment of regular policemen after their regular working hours, at the rate of X1.50 per hour, for the sole purpose of serving summons and notices upon and arresting persons within and outside of the ViLlra.ge of Mayfield who have failed to appear 5n the ~~a.yor1 s Court of this pillage in response to-any warrant, summons or arrest notice or orders of the Mayor. Special arrangements may be made by Council with special policemen~•whereby they shall not be paid for police service performed in connection with the operation of their own business." Sec.-2. Existing Section 3 of Ordinance No. 179, as amended by Ordinances mos. 508 and 51.8, is hereby; repealed as B~ the date of the passage of this ordinance. Sec. 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the gilla.ge of Mayfield and its inhabitants,
