ORDINANCE No. .518, BY INORI;ASING THE <br />COMPENSATION_ .OF ,MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.. _ <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY T"rIE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF' HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, . THAT :. .- - _ . - - - - - - - ~ - - _ - - - ... _ . - . - <br />Sec. 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. x.79 entitled: "An <br />Ordinance to peal Ordinances. Nos. ?~02 and Ja27 and to provide for the <br />compensation of the Marshal and. Chief of Po]ace and Special Policemen" <br />as amended by Ordinance No. 518,_is hereby amended to read as follows; <br />"Sec, 3. Compensation. The following compensation shall be <br />pai.d_from and after ~ariuary lst, 1956, but may be changed at <br />any time by Council by Ordinance or Resolutions <br />Marshal orfChief of Police X5,000.00 per year, <br />Regular Policemen - at the rate•of X4300.00 per year <br />Special Policemen - X1.50 for each hour during which <br />_ he serves as such on assignment <br />~• by the Mayor or Chief of Police. <br />The total number of hours to be served by all Special <br />Policemen during any one week shall not exceed 32, but_ Council <br />may change the maximum number of hours at any time by Ordinance <br />or Resolution. Provided, however, that the Mayor, at his <br />discretion, may authorize the employment of Special Policemen <br />in excess of 32 hours a week and the employment of regular <br />policemen after their regular working hours, at the rate of <br />X1.50 per hour, for the sole purpose of serving summons and <br />notices upon and arresting persons within and outside of the <br />ViLlra.ge of Mayfield who have failed to appear 5n the ~~a.yor1 s <br />Court of this pillage in response to-any warrant, summons or <br />arrest notice or orders of the Mayor. Special arrangements <br />may be made by Council with special policemen~•whereby they <br />shall not be paid for police service performed in connection <br />with the operation of their own business." <br />Sec.-2. Existing Section 3 of Ordinance No. 179, as amended <br />by Ordinances mos. 508 and 51.8, is hereby; repealed as B~ the date of the <br />passage of this ordinance. <br />Sec. 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />health, safety and welfare of the gilla.ge of Mayfield and its inhabitants, <br /> <br />
