of ten days from the date of such notice, at the cost of
<br />the owner or person having. custody or possession;
<br />(b) In the event that the owner or person having custody
<br />.-; ,- ,_. or possession of such animal shall fail to comply with
<br />arty' such order of the Chief of Police, within 6 hours of
<br />the notification, that such order has been issued, and
<br />served upon such owner, or person having custody or
<br />possession, aray police officer of the Village, or person
<br />by ham deputized, may take such animal_ ,into custody and
<br />' place the same in quarantine, at the expense of the owner
<br />or persons having custody or possession of sa.a.d animal.
<br />Sec. 6A Aiiamals and Livestock -Running at Large. It shall be unlawful
<br />for any .person, being the owner or }laving charge of any horses mules, cattle,
<br />sheep, goats, swine, dogs, cats, chickens, geese, or other f~l or animal, to
<br />suffer or permit the same to run at large within the corporate limits of the
<br />Village of Mayfield.
<br />Sec.7. Vicious Dogs. It shall be unlawful. for any person who owns, keeps
<br />or harbors a dog. own.to be vicious to permit or suffer such.dog to run at
<br />large, or upon any public street, publa_c highway, public park, or other public
<br />place in the Village of Mayfield. -
<br />Secd L. Trnpounding of Do~so In addition to the other penalties
<br />applicable .to .violations .of this .Ordinance, it sha71 be the duty of the Police
<br />Department of this Village to take up and impound every dog found in violation
<br />of any section of this ordinance. If such dog is not wearing a valid license
<br />~ tag, the Pol.a.ce Department. may dispose of such dog. If such dog is wearing
<br />such a tag, the Chief of Police sha]1. immediately give the licensee, a:f he
<br />can be found, written notice that the dog has been taken up® The dog shall
<br />not be released except upon payment of X5000 to pay the expense_ of taking up
<br />and impounding it and the sum of X1.00 per. day for keeping it, and. any dog
<br />not reclaimed within 7 clays after.-receipt, of notice by the licensee, or within
<br />10 days of taking it up a.f the licensee cannot be found, shall be destroyed
<br />or otherwise disposed of at the discretion of the Police Department. .
<br />Sec. 9. Penalty. Any person violating any. section of this Ordinance
<br />shall be h- end guilty .of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall
<br />be fined not less than X5.00 nor more than ~200a00 and costs of prosecution,
<br />and shall stand committed until such amount, is paid.
<br />Sec© 10. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure,
<br />necessary for_the.ammediate preservation of the public health, peace, safety
<br />and welfare in order to safeguard life and lamb of the residents of the Village
<br />of Mayfield, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
<br />after the date of its _passage._ . _ _ .
