Sec. 1-2 CAST IKON ~:iI:TL~~ PIPE Ati~ F ~_TTTNGS : -All water pipe and fittings shall be of a pattern and. c~~aractc~r approved and adol;-t ;d by the Division of i-iater and Beat, Department or' Public iJtilit].es; of the C:i_ty of Cleveland and must 'oe of a superior quality of iron, tough and even grain, free from cracks, sand holes, or defects of any nature. (A) - A1.1 pit cast pipe shall be manu:~"actured in all respects in ac- cordance ~n=ith, and shall meet the requirements of the latest "Standard Specifications for Cast -~ron Pipe Snii Special Fittings" as adopted by the American Rater ?iorlcs l~ssociation; iR=h:ich specifications except as herein mod.if=led are made a part of these specifications. I:ug;~;ed pipe and fitt- ings shall be pit cast and shall. be used vuhere "tied distances" are shown or vahere specifically noted on the aJ_ignment drawings . (B) - Al1_ pit cast pipe and fittings shall be cement lined and of the size and classes noted on the respective Contract drawings. (C} - In lieu of pit cast pipe above, the Contractor will be per- mitted to furnish either centrifugal or high strength cement lined pipe, the metal shall have a, modulus of rupture of not less than X0,000 pounds and a tensile strength of not less than 18,000 pounds and sha7.1 be for Class noted on the Contract Drawings. Pipe may be furnished in 12, 16 or 18 foot lenCths. Tine centrifugally cast pipe shall conform to the American Stur..dard Specifications A 21.6-1952 and alJ_ subsequent amend- ments thereto.
