(d) TRANSVERSE EXPANSION JOITdTS: Transverse expansion joints shall, be placed at intervals of from 280 feet to 600 feet in length. Dowel bars, as specified in Item !~ (b) Construction Joints, above, shall be used but for the expansion joi~-~.t shall be equipped ~rrith a neat fitting metal cag at one end.
