T: Sec. 1„ Section 3 of Ordinance No,.583; entitled: «An Ordinance to Provide ior t.he Ternxre and Compensation of ivIembers of the Police Department, to Add the Posa.tion. of Sergeant of Police and -to Repeal Orc7.inance No; 479., as amended by Ord3.nance No, 54811,, as Iater amended by Ordinance No, 642' is hereby amerded to read as fo7lotas : "Sec. 3. CompensationQ The foLl.oTaing coinpensation shall be paid, be-gi '?^g as of January lst, 1959, but may be changed at any t:ime by Council by Ordinance or Resolution: Marshall or Chief of Police $5500.00 per year, Sergean-t of. Police arra regular Fo3.icemeiz at the rate of 4800,00 per yearp Special Policemen ,?'?1075 per each hour during wh:ich he serves as such on assignment by the P4ayor or ClZief of Police. The total rnunber of hours to be served by a11 Special PoZicemen durixg any one week shal7. not exceed 64.? but Coulicil may change tlie maximuin rnamber of hours at any time by Ordinance or Kesoluta.on. 1'rovided, however, that the Mayor at his discretion may authorize t.he employment of Special Policemen in excess of 64 hours a week ard the employr,ient of regu.l.ar policemen after their regul.ar worki.ng hou?.?s, a t the rate of $1,75 per hour, for the sole pua°pose of serving su.rnmons and notices upon and arresting persons wi.thin and outside of the Village of Mayfield who have iailed to appear in the Mayorts Court of -Fliis Vi.]lage in response to an;j warranty summons or arrest notice., or orclers of -the AZayor.
