Section 3 0f Ordinance 1100 583 entitled: "An Ordinance to <br />Frovide for the Tenure and Compensation oE Members of the Police Department, <br />to Add the Position of Sergeant of Police and to Repeal Ordinance No. 479, <br />as Amended by Ordinance Tdoe 548,5! as amended by Ordinances Nos. 659 and <br />670, is hereby amended to read as folloxas: <br />"Sec, 3. Compensation and Allowance for Unif orms. The <br />folloiaing compensation shall be paid, beginning as of iiarch,l, <br />1960, but may be changed at any time by Couneil by Ordinance <br />or Resolution: <br />Marshall or Chief of Police - $5775.00 per year, <br />Sergeant of Police and Regular Policeman - at i,he rate of <br />$4800, 00 per year for six month <br />probationary period, thereafter at <br />the rate of $5000,00 per year. <br />Tn addition, th'e Piarshall or Chief of Police, the <br />Sergeant oE Police, and any regular policeman sha11 <br />be paid at the rate of $1.75 For each hour spent <br />by hin in operating or assisting-in the operation <br />.. of radar equipment on the public highwaps in the <br />Vill,age of Mayfield after his regular work shift <br />or-after his regular working hourse <br />Special rolicemen - - $1.75 per each hour during which <br />he serves on such an assignment by the Aiayor or <br />Chief of Police. The total number of hours to be <br />• served by all Special Policemen during any one <br />weelc shall not exceed 64, but Council may change <br />the maximum number o£ hours at any time by . <br />Ordinance or Resolution. Provided, however, that <br />the Mayor at his discretion may authorize the <br />employment of Special Policemen in excess of 64 <br />hours a weelc and the employment of regalar <br />policemen af ter their regular working hours, at <br />the rate of $1.75 per hour, for the purpose of
