ORDINANCE No. 751 <br />By Mr. Wedler <br />AN ORDIN?.IQCE PROVIDING FOR THE EA4PLOYNi'ENT OF <br />LEGAL COUNSEL FOR THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD <br />G7HEREAS, Council deems it for the best interests of the Village to <br />provide legal counsel for the same and for the officers thereof. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OI' THE VILLAGE OF Z~IAYFIELD, <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY OHIO THAT: <br />Sec, 1~ Arnold M. Edelman, Attorney at Law, be, and he hereby is, <br />employed to act as legal counsel for said Village and the officers thereof <br />in their official capacity, and as such to prosecute and def end all legal <br />actions by or against said Village or any department or officer thereof to <br />which he may be assigned by Council or by the Mayor. <br />-.Sec, 2. He shall prepare and submit to Council all resolutions and <br />ordinances of whatsoever character or nature necessary for all public <br />improvements and for the issuance of bonds and every purpose authorized by <br />law, and he shall prepare all other resolutions and ordinances as are <br />requested by this Council or any department of this Villages <br />Sec. 3, He shall be appointed for a period of two years, from <br />January 1st, 1962, to December 31st, 1963, both days inclusive, and shall <br />receive as compensation the sum of $3,000.00 per annum, payable in equal <br />monthly installments, which compensation shall cover all general services <br />rendered to the said Village as such legal counsel, with the exception of <br />the following; <br />(a) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum at the rate <br />of $150.00 per diem for time spent on behalf of said Village or <br />any department or officer thereof in any trial or proceeding bef ore <br />any court ( other than the Mayorrs court of the Village of Mayfield) <br />or bef ore any other public board or commission ( other than a board <br />or commission of this Village) and at the rate of $20.00 per hour <br />for time spent in preparation for any such trial or proceeding; <br />(b) Such~]:egal pounsel:~hall be paid the additional sum of $250,00 <br />for legal services rendered in connection with each general <br />obligation bond issue of said Village. For each improvement to be <br />financed by special assessments, such legal counsel shall be paid <br />an amount equal to Z-I/2% of the amount of the accepted bid, which <br />shall be compensation for all legal services rendered in connection <br />with the special assessment note and bonds issued in connection <br />with such improvement, including the preparation of necessary <br />legislation and the supervision of the preparation of transcripts <br />of the proceedings in connection therewith; provided, however, <br />
