ORDINANCE No. 785 <br />By Mr. Weller <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE IMMEDIATE PURCHASE <br />OF A SNOW PZOW AND HUSING HITCH IN AN ,EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the present snow plow owned by the Village of L°Iyfield <br />and used by its Service Departrnent has broken down as the result of long <br />wear and damage in the recent almost unprecedented snow storm, and it <br />would not be economically feasible to have it repaired nor would it be <br />wise or safe to be without the use of a snow plow during the time required <br />for competetive bidding; and <br />WHEREAS, there would be great danger to the Village of Mayfield <br />and its inhabitants if a new snow plow and hosing hitch are not immediately <br />obtained in order to clear the streets and public places of snow, and <br />therefore an emergency exists, making it necessary to waive the requirements <br />of competetive bidding; and <br />W'EIEREAS, diligent effotts have been made to obtain informal bids <br />for the purchase of a new snow plow and hosing hitch and an offer has been <br />obtained from~Earl Ives Equipment Company of Mentor, Ohio, to sell the same <br />to the Village upon exchanging the present snow plow and the payment of <br />the additional sum of $1270.00; and <br />WHEREAS, in the opinion of Council such bid is the lowest and best <br />that could possibly~be obtained. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCII, OF THE VII,I,AGE OF <br />MAYFIEIaD., CUYA~iOGA COUNTY ,OHIO , THAT :. .. .. ,.. _ _ - _ ....- _ <br />_. , • .. . <br />_. <br />.. <br />Sec. 1. Council deems an emergency to exist, threatening t e <br />safety and welfare of the Village and its inhabitants, and therefore, <br />without advertisement for competetive bids, authorizes the Mayor and <br />the Clerk to enter into an agreement with Earl Ives Equipment Company <br />to purchase a new snoca plow and hosing hitch, upon payment~to said <br />company of the sum of $1270.00, plus the present sno~a plow owned by <br />the Village® <br />Sec. 2. The Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized and <br />empowered to execute all such documents and to do all things necessary <br />to carry out the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />
