ORDINANCE No, 814 <br />By r1r>a Mason <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING Z`HE REMOVAL OF SNOW, ICE,.. <br />SLUSH,_DIRT, MUD,.A~VD OTHER SUBSTANCES FROM SIDEWAhKS <br />LAND PRESCRIBING ~ A PENALTY_ FOR yVIOT~ATION_ 7'HEREQF _ <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCII~ OF THE VIZ,LAGE OF N1AYFIEI.D, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />STATE OF _ O~IIO, THAT : _ _ - - - ~ - - - - - <br />Seca 1., Every owner, occupant or person in control of any lot or <br />premises abutting a sidewalk (or any continuation of a sidewalk used for <br />sidewalk purposes) on any street or highway in the Village of Mayfield <br />shall keep such sidewalk or continuation free from snow, ices slushy dirt, <br />mud and other substances at all times, Provided, however' that no removal <br />of snow shall be required more than once in any one~day, nor bef ore 9 oy'clock <br />in the morning next following the fall of any snowQ <br />Sec, 2, Anp owner, occupant, or person in control of any lot or <br />premises abutting a sidewalk or a continuation thereof who shall violate <br />Section 1 of this Ordinance shall for each and every violation be deemed <br />guilty of a misdemeanors, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not <br />more than $25 00, ag stand committed until such fine is paid, and each <br />day during which such violation occurs shall constitute a separate off ensem <br />Secp 3® This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peaces <br />health, saf ety and welf are of the Village of Mayf field and its inhabitants y.. <br />because of the danger to life and limb of pedestrians particularly school <br />children, who are forced to walk in the public highways where the sidewallcs <br />hav not been cleared, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br />from and after the date of its passages <br />Passed this 76th day of 5'ept-ember 19630 <br />Mayor - Pres~.dent of Council <br />Attest; _.. <br />f ~. <br />SEAI~ ~=Glens' <br />
