ORDINANCE No. 826 By Mr. Shaw AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING PERMIT FEES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, ADDITION-T0, IIKPROVEMENT, DEMOLITIOi3 AND REMOVAL.UF BUILDINGS AND PARTS THEREOF,.WITHIN.THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIEI~D, AND,REPEALII~'G ALZ, ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF- ORDINAIVCES _AS ARE INCON6ISTENT THERE6vITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF 1~1AYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, STATE OF OHIO, THAT: - Sec. 1. From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the following schedule ~of fees shall be in force and effect for the granting of permits for the construction, alteration, addition to, improvement, demolition and removal of buildings and parts thereof within the Village of Mayfield, Ohio; and the fees hereinaf ter prescribed shall be additive and, unless otherwise specifically provided, separate fees shall be paid for each of the items listed: PERNSIT FEES Calculating Aggregate Floor Areas, The aggregate floor area shall be the sum of the gross horizontal areas of the several floors, including basements, cellars, and attics that are at least f fifty percent (50%) habitable, All horizontal dimensions shall be taken from the exterior faces of walls, including enclosed porches. The floor space of a building or other structure so used herein shall mean the floor space for each floor, including basements where used for business or by the public or as living quarters, attached garages, breezeways and covered porches. Establishing Cost. Where the permit fee is based upon cost of the work done under the permit, such costs shall be the actual cost as certif ied by the owner or authorized representative of the owner, and as approved by the Building Off icial. The Building Official may, at any time up to three months of ter the completion of the building, require the submission of authoritative estimates or actual cost data to substantiate the estimated cost stated in the application for permit, and require the payment of additional fees when it is demonstrated that the actual cost of the work is in excess of the estimated cost upon which permit fees were based, Ref and of Permit Fees. Whenever the work „f or which a permit has been issued, has been abandoned and is not to be done, such permit may be returned to the Building Official for cancellation and after a deduction of Five Dollars ($5,00)from the permit fee has been made, one-half of the balance.. of the permit fee, if any, shall be refunded®
