Provided, however, that the Mayor at his discretion may authorize the employment of Special Policemen in excess of 64 hours a week and the employment of Regular Policemen after their regular working hours, at the rate of $2.'1D per hour, for the purpose of serving summons and notices upon and arresting persons within and outside of the Village of Niayfield who have failed to appear in the Mayors Court of this Village in response to any warrants, summons or arrest notice, or orders of the Mayor. Special arrangements may be made by Council with Special Policemen whereby they shall not be paid for police services perf ormed in connection with the operation of their own businesses or of businesses for which they are compensated by the Owners thereof. Uniform Allowance.: `~ In addition to their regular compensation, each regular members of M the Police Department shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms purchased by him for use in,his police work; provided, however, that such reimbursement shall not exceed the sum of $100.00 per ~~-~ year and must be supported by bills showing the cost.of same. In ~~~b addition, each Special Policeman shall be likewise so reimbursed, except that his ma.~cimum allowance for uniforms shall be $50.00 per year." t.=~ Cs~ Sec. 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, ~'{ necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, saf ety ~ and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, because of the necessity of providing the maximum police protection within the limits of _ the funds available for that purpose, and this Ordinance shall take effect ~~' and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
