Flynn and <br />Santo Basile <br />A RESOLUTION RETAINING THE SERVICES OF JOSEPH <br />ABATE AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRP,CTOR TO SERVE AS <br />TEMPORARY ASSISTANT TO THE BUILDING CONIMISSIONER <br />P,T A RATE OF FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($15.00) PER HOUR AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, there has been a substantial increase in the <br />construction of buildings in Mayfield Village within the past several <br />months; and <br />WHEREAS, the increased construction activity appears as if <br />it will continue; and <br />WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner currently has no <br />assistants to aid him in the daily enforcement of the Building Code <br />and the Planning and Zoning Code of the Village; and <br />WHEREP,So the Mayor and Council are desirous of providing the <br />Building Commissioner with an assistant who is qualified to aid him in <br />his daily duties; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section l. Joseph Abate is hereby retained as an <br />independent contractor to serve as temporary assistant to the Building <br />Commissioner of Mayfield Village, Ohio. <br />Section 2. Joseph Abate shall be compensated at the rate <br />of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) per hour, not to exceed eight (8) hours in <br />any one day. Joseph Abate shall not be eligible for any benefits <br />accorded other employees of Mayfield Village unless and until the same <br />are approved by the Council. <br />Section 3. Joseph Abate shall perform, in a workmanlike <br />manner, the duties assigned him from time-to-time by the Building <br />Commissionero <br />Section 4. Joseph Abate shall serve as temporary <br />assistant to the Building Commissioner until either he or the Council, <br />by Resolution, determine that the contractual relationship created <br />herein should be terminated and so notify the other, in writing, at <br />least thirty (30) days prior to the effective termination date. <br />Section 5. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
