RESOLUTION N0. 85- 63 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE PURCHASE OF A <br />POLICE CRUISER' FROM CLASSIC CH EV ROLET TN <br />THE AMOUNT OF TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE <br />HUNDRED EIGHTEEN DOLLARS AND NINETY TWO <br />CENTS ($12,518.92), DECLARING SUCH <br />PURCHASE TO BE AN EMERGENCY, AND <br />DECLARING THIS RESOLUTION TO BE AN_ <br />EMERGENCY MEASURE. <br />WHEREAS, one of the Village police cruisers was recently <br />involved in a collision resulting in said automobile being "totalled"; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it was necessary to find an immediate replacement <br />for said automobile in order to maintain effective law enforcement. <br />within the municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council authorized the Mayor to locate and <br />purchase a replacement vehicle in an amount not to exceed Thirteen <br />Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor was able to locate a police cruiser ready <br />for delivery at Classic Chevrolet in the amount of Twelve Thousand <br />Five Hundred Eighteen Dollars and Ninety Two Cents ($12,518.92) and, <br />pursuant to the directive of Council, purchased said automobile for <br />the Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council is now desirous of ratifying the action <br />of the Mayor in purchasing the aforesaid automobile; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio does <br />hereby declare that the purchase of the police cruiser from Classic <br />Chevrolet, as set forth hereinabove, was an emergency purchase <br />necessary to maintain the effective daily operations of the Police <br />Department of Mayfield Village, Ohio. <br />Section 2. The Council of Mayfield Village does. hereby <br />ratify the purchase of the said automobile from Classic Chevrolet in <br />the amount of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Eighteen Dollars and Ninety <br />Two Cents ($12,518.92). <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took. place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements, including the requ-irements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
