RESOLUTION N0. 85-64 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION NAMING THE PUBLIC PARK AT <br />THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF S.O.M. CENTER <br />AND W ILSON [MILLS ROADS "B EEB E PARR" AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />have previously determined that the property acquired by the munici- <br />pality located at the northwest corner of S.O.M. Center and Wilson <br />Mills Roads should be dedicated as a public park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have further determined that <br />the said public park should be named after an individual who exempli- <br />fies the effort to retain the rural nature of Mayfield Village and to <br />maintain its image as a "f amily town"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have decided that former <br />Mayor Robert G. Beebe is most deserving of having the new public park <br />named in his honor; now, theref ore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, do hereby name and dedicate the public park located at the <br />northwest corner of S.O.M. Center and Wilson Mills Roads as "Beebe <br />Park." <br />Section 2. The Mayor, Clerk of Council and all other <br />appropriate municipal officials and employees are hereby authorized <br />and directed to take whatever steps are necessary in order to formally <br />designate the said public park on all records of the municipality as <br />"Beebe Park". <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compli- <br />ance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for <br />the reason that the naming of the said public park as authorized <br />herein is necessary to foster the goals and ideals of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon <br />passage by the affirmative vote. of not less than four (4) members <br />elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />
