RESOLUTION N0. 85-66 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE ACTION OF THE <br />MAYOR IN PURCHASING A GENERATOR FOR THE <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT FROM TRAYCO ELECTRIC <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($7,800.00) DECLARING <br />THE SAME TO BE A TRUE EMERGENCY PURCHASE <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council previously determined that it <br />was immediately necessary to replace the generator in the Police <br />Department in order to provide a dependable source of electricity in <br />the event of a power failure; and <br />WHEREAS, the ability to provide a dependable back-up source <br />of electricity for the Police Department is essential to maintaining <br />continuous law enforcement capability; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has previously authorized the Mayor to <br />shop for and purchase, at the best price available, a generator for <br />immediate delivery and installation to the Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the instructions of the Council, the <br />Mayor has obtained the best available quotation for a generator from <br />Trayco Electric in the amount of Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars <br />($7,800.00); and <br />WHEREAS, for the reasons set forth hereinabove such purchase <br />was authorized and made as a true emergency for the best interests of <br />the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the municipality <br />and, therefore, was made without competitive bidding; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Council hereby ratifies the action of the <br />Mayor in purchasing a generator for the Police Department from Trayco <br />Electric in the amount of Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars <br />($7,800.00). <br />Section 2. For the reasons set forth in the preamble <br />hereto, said purchase is hereby declared to be an emergency purchase. <br />Section_3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />
