RESOLUTION N0. 83- 21 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING AND <br />ACCEPTING THE RECENT PAY'INCREASE <br />AWARDED BY' THE HAYFIELD BOARD OF <br />EDUCATION TO HAYFIELD VILLAGE <br />POLICE OFFICERS SUPERVISING THE <br />PARKING LOT AT MAYFIELD~HIGH SCHOOL <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayfield Board of Education reimburses the <br />municipality for services rendered by its police officers for <br />supervising the parking lot at Mayfield High School; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayfield Board of Education recently enacted <br />Resolution 6-1983-103 increasing the compensation of said police <br />officers for the-1983-1984 school year to $8.50 per hour plus payment <br />of the employer pension-contribution for each officer; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village wish to <br />acknowledge and accept the recent pay increase for services rendered <br />by Village police officers to the Board of Education; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section li The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village do <br />hereby acknowledge and accept the pay increase awarded by the Mayfield <br />Board of Education pursuant to Resolution 6-1983-103 to Mayfield <br />Village police officers supervising the parking lot at Mayfield High <br />School, said pay increase to include hourly compensation of $8.50 <br />together with reimbursement of the employer pension contribution. <br />section 2. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements, including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />for the reason that the said school season has already commenced and <br />acceptance of the terms of the subject contract have already begun. <br />It shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council <br />
