FflIL.rD ql I811$ <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-12 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE OHIO SENATE TO ENACT H.B. <br />527 WHICH WILL RAISE THE LIMIT FOR PERMITTED <br />EXPENDITURES WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING TO TEN <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS (610,000.00). <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code currently requires that any <br />expenditure by a municipal corporation in excess of Five Thousand <br />Dollars ($5,000.00) must first be let for competitive bid; and <br />WAEREAS, the Ohio House has recently enacted and sent to the <br />Senate H.B. 527 which would raise the bidding limit from Five Thousand <br />Dollars ($5,000.00) to Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00);and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed increase in the bidding limit, as <br />specified, would greatly enhance the ability of municipalities to make <br />minor purchases by shopping for the best available price without the <br />necessity of advertising for competitive bids, thereby reducing <br />expenditures for advertising and expediting purchases; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, for themselves and on behalf of the residents of the munici- <br />pality, urge the Ohio Senate to enact H.B. 527 and to send the same to <br />Governor Richard F. Celeste for signature. <br />Section 2. The Cleik of Council is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to Governor Richard F. <br />Celeste, President of the Senate Paul Gillmor and to the Cuyahoga <br />County delegation to the Ohio Senate, <br />Section 3.
