RESOLUTION N0. 88-36 <br />INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR CARMEN AND WUNCIL AS A WHOLE. <br />A RFSOLUTION <br />DECLARIING AN HP1IERGENCY AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANC$ OF AN <br />INFORMAL BID FROM SAFLT7C FIRST SUPPLY FOR <br />THS PURCHASB OF FIltSFIGflTIIdG TURN-OUT GSAR <br />WHERBAS, said firefighting turn-out gear must meet the National Fire <br />Protection Standard as well as the Ohio Administrative Code; and <br />WHSREAS, said firefighting turn-out gear is only available from a limited <br />number of manufacturers which comply with such standards; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has received an informal bid £rom Safety <br />First Supply to provide such gear for an amount of Five Thousand Eight Hundred <br />Ten Dollars ($5,810.00); and <br />4HE2FAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has immediate need for the purchase of <br />the firefighting turn-out gear; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council is hereby authorized to <br />enter into an agreement with Safety First Supply for the purchase of ten (10) <br />sets of firefighting turn-out gear in the amount of Five Thousand Eight Hun- <br />dred Ten Dollars ($5,810.00), in accordance with the informal bid submitted by <br />said Company, and without advertising further for competitive bids. The <br />Council finds and determines that said gear is of an emergency nature <br />requiring immediate purchase of such gear from said Company. <br />SBCTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3: This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare <br />of the residents o£ Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason set forth in the
