Resolution No. $ 72 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Prager <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WORK PERIODS, PAYMENT FOR OVERTINIE, <br />AND EXECUTIVE EXCEPTION FOR PERSQiVNEL IN THE POLICE AND FIRE <br />DEPARTMENTS, BUILDING COMMISSIONER AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the 1974 amendments to the Fair Labor Standards Act have estimated <br />the application of the Federal minimum wage, overtime, equal pay and record-keeping <br />requirements to the employees of the Police and Fire Departments, Building Commissioner <br />and Administrative Assistant, of municipalities. <br />THAT: <br />NOW, TIiEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, OHIO, <br />Section l. (a) Police <br />Overtime for employees of the Police Department, except executives, commencing <br />January 1, 1975, will be computed time-and-a-half for hours worked in excess of 240 <br />hours in a 28-day period. <br />(b) Firefighters <br />Overtime for employees of the Fire Department, except executives, commencing <br />January l, 1975, will be computed time-and-a-half for hours worked in excess of 240 <br />hours in a 28-day period. <br />Section 2. It is hereby declared that the following employees of the municipality <br />shall be excluded from coverage of both the minimum wage and maximum hour provisions of <br />the Fair Labor Standards Act: <br />(a) Police Chief <br />(b) Fire Chief <br />(c) Building Commissioner and Administrative Assistant <br />Section 3. For the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is made a part <br />hereof, this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take <br />effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />ATTEST: <br />CLFkK OF COUNCIL <br />APPROVEDe January 2 , 1975 <br />f • <br />;;MAY OR <br />PRESIDENT OF OOUNCIL
