RESOLUTION No. 543 <br />By Mr. Zorn <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZTNG A Tri70 (2) MILL LEVY FOR FIVE <br />YEARS FOR.PA~IENT Or SALARIES OF PERMANENT POLICE_ <br />PERSONNEL FOR THE TAX DUPLICATE YEARS 1962 T0,,1966, <br />BOT'd INCLUSIVE. _ <br />WHEREAS, Section 5705.19 of the Ohio Revised Code affords relief~.by <br />enabling taxing districts to submit a proposal for an additional levy of taxes <br />for payment of salaries of permanent police personnel to the electors at the <br />suc~ceeding.November election$ <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY '1`IIE COUNCIL. OF 1'HE VILLAGE OF I`3AYFlELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMBERS ELICTED_THERETO CONCURRING, THAT: <br />Sec. 1, The amount of taxes which may be raised by the Levy of~taxes <br />within the ten (LO) mill limitation authorized by Section 5705®02 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code will be insufficient to provide an adequate amount for the payment <br />of salaries of permanent police personnel and it is necessary for the purpose <br />of providing additional funds for payment of salaries of permanent police <br />personnel that taxes be levied on the taxable property in said village for a <br />period of 5 years at a rate in excess of such maximum return authorized by said <br />Section 5705.02 of the Ohio Revised Code, <br />Seca 2. The question of the levy of two (2) mills on each dollar of <br />the tax valuation of the taxable property on the tax duplicate within the Village <br />of Mayf field, Ohio, which amounts to 20~ on each ~100a00 of valuation of said <br />property, for a period of five years, beginning with the tax duplicate year 1962, <br />for payment of salaries of permanent police personnel for the Village of Mayfield <br />under the provisions of Section 5705,19 of the Ohio Revised Code, be submitted to <br />the electors of the Village of Payfield at-the general election to be held on the <br />6th day of November, 1962, as authorized by lava, and said election shall be held <br />at the regular places of voting in said district as established by the Board of <br />Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, between the hours of 6;30 ogclock A. M„ and <br />6;30 o~clock P, NI., Eastern Standard Time, and that said election shall be <br />conducted, canvassed and certif ied in. the manner provided by law. <br />Sec. 3, The Village Clerk be and he hereby is directed to give notice <br />of said election as provided by lawn <br />Sec. 4. The Village Clerk be, and he hereby is, directed to certify a <br />copy of this Resolution to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. <br />
