URGING THS RESIDENTS OF THB ffiI.LCRFST AREA TO SUPPORT TH6 ffiSTORIC HOUSB PffidCII, DRIVE SPONSORSD BY THE MAYFIffi,D TOWNSHIP ffiSTORICAL SOCIETY WHSRF.AS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society has been organized to preserve and promote the history and tradition of Old May£ield Township; and WHEREAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society will sponsor £und-raisers for the expenses in the restoration and operation of the Bennett-VanCuren Home, located in Mayfield Village; and WHSREAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society will conduct a Historic House Pencil Drive between April 1 through April 9, 1989, for the restoration fund; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, have determined that the restoration o£ the Bennett-VanCuren Home is essential to maintaining the history and tradition of the Hillcrest Area; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY TH6 COUNCIL OF HAYFIEI.D VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, hereby urge the residents of the Hillcrest Area to support the Historic House Pencil Drive sponsored by the Mayfield Township Historical Society. SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Clerk of Councils for all communities in the Hillcrest Area and to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, News Herald and the Sun Newspapers. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all £ormal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meeGings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
