04/06/89 RESOLUTION N0. 89-23 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole A RESOLUTION URGING THE ELECTORATE OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY TO VOTE "YES" ON ISSUE 14 RENEWING THE 5-YEAR 1.0 MILL LEVY FOR PURPOSES OF GENERAL OPERATION EXPENSES OF THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY WHEREAS, Issue 14 will appear on the ballot at the Primary Election to be held on May 2, 1989; and WHEREAS, Issue 14 is a 5-Year 1.0 Mill Levy renewal for purposes o£ general operation expenses of the Cuyahoga County Public Library; and WHEREAS, Issue 14 is a Levy renewal so that there will be no increase in the taxes for purposes of library services; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio have determined that the renewal of the 1.0 Mill Levy is reasonable and that the passage o£ same will greatly benefit the residents of Cuyahoga County and the community in general; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, hereby urge the electorate of Cuyahoga County to vote "Yes" on Issue 14 renewing a 5-Year 1.0 Mill Levy for purposes of general operation expenses of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Public Library and to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, News Herald and the Sun Newspapers. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Sectian 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
