RESOLUTION N0. 731 BY : 1~IP.. DAV I S A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COOPERATION WITH THE NORTHEAST OHIO AREAWIDE COORDINATING AGENCY. WHEREAS, for the purpose of responding to the needs engendered by Title II of the Demonstration Cities and Metropolitan Development Act of 1966, Section 7U1 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended, and other pertinent federal anal state statutes and programs, an areawide coordinating agency has been established for the Northeast Ohio Area, including the I~ietropolitan areas of Cleveland, Akron and Lorain-Elyria, and the Counties of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, ISedina, Portage and Summit; and WHEREAS, an areawide board has been established consisting of the County Commissioners from the participating counties, three elected officials from each county among the rlayors, City Managers and Toc~rnship Trustees, the Mayor of the City of Cleveland; and the Department of Urban Affairs of the State of Ohio for review of projects concerned with, but not limited to, open- space land projects, hospitals, airports, libraries, water supply and distribution facilities, secaerage facilities and waste treatment works, highways, transporta- tion~facilities, and water development and land conservation projects, and for the maintenance, support and initiation of comprehensive areawide planning in the region; and L3IIEREAS, Ohio law empowers local political subdivisions to contract with each other on matters necessitating such contract, when such matters are in the power of any subdivision to do singly; and WHEREAS, the areawide board has adopted a constitution and by-laws empowering it to comprehensively plan and to review projects and programs for the region, and having all powers necessary and incident thereto. IdOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF I~IAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. This subdivision cooperate with said agency and with its boards, including the Areawide Coordinating Board; Councils, including the Council of Planning Directors and Regional and County Planning Commissions; and committees in carrying out its enumerated powers and purposes as set forth in its constitution and by-laws. Section 2. Said cooperation does not constitute a caaiver of any authority to do or not to do any act that this political subdivision may do by itself under authority of the law.
