uiiijiby <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-40 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN <br />INFORMAL BID FROM JONES EQUIPMENT, INC. FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF A FOX HOPPER SPREADER <br />WfiEREAS, the Fox Hopper Spreader is the only type of spreader designed as <br />to the specifications required by the Service Department; and <br />WHEREAS, said Fox Hopper Spreader is only available from a limited number <br />of suppliers; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio received an informal bid from Jones <br />Equipment, Inc. to provide such equipment for an amount of Four Thousand <br />Nine Hundred Ten Dollars ($4,910.00); and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has immediate need for the purchase of <br />such equipment for the upcoming season; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, TAAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council is hereby authorized to <br />enter into an agreement with Jones Equipment, Inc. for the purchase of a Fox <br />Hopper Spreader in the amount of Eour Thousand Nine Hundred Ten Dollars <br />($4,910.00), in accordance with the informal bid submitted by said Company, <br />and without advertising further £or competitive bids. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />l <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare <br />of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason set forth in the
