RESOLUTION N0. $04 <br />BY : A'IR. ~ Boomer <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DIRECTOR OF HIGHWAYS <br />TO PROCEED WITH THE WIDENING OF S.O.M. CENTER <br />ROAD TO THE NORTHERLY CORPORATE LINE OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD <br />WHEREAS, S.O.M. Center Road, also known as State Route 91, a heavily <br />traveled public highway, is now in the final stages of its widening to a four- <br />' lane highway to a point approximately .12 of a mile north of tJilson Mills Road; <br />and <br />t,THEREAS, said State Routs 91 is also a four-lane highway beginning <br />at the northerly corporate line of the Village of Mayfield and proceeding in <br />a northerly direction; and <br />WHEREAS, the portion of S.O.M. Center Road between said point .12 <br />of a mile north of Wilson Plills Road and the northerly corporate line of the <br />Village of Mayfield is still a two-lane highway, creating a so-called "traffic <br />pocket", thereby making this section of the highway a potential high accident <br />area. <br />NOtd, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF <br />rAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Director of Highways of the State of Ohio is hereby <br />requested to proceed as rapidly as possible with the widening of S.O.rl. Center <br />Road to a four-lane highway from a point. approximately .12 of a mile north <br />of tJilson Mills Road to the northerly corporate line of the Village of Mayfield. <br />Section 2, The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby directed to transmit to <br />the State Highway Director a certified copy of this Resolution. <br />Section 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure by reason of the need for expediting the construction of projects to <br />promote highway safety, and is necessary for the immediate protection of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare, and this Resolution shall be in full <br />force and effect from and after the date of its adoption. <br />Adopted this 20th day of September 1971. <br />Mayo -President of Council <br />AT T <br />., <br />(Seal) Clerk - Treasurer <br />
