08/18/89 <br />*Note: Additional expenditure authorized <br />by Res. 90-42 adopted 6/1II/90 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-54 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council <br />A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING EAST JORDON IRON WORKS TO BE THE <br />LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR THE SALE TO THE <br />MUNICIPALITY OF ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE (131) BICYCLE GRATES, <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH EAST JORDON IRON WORKS <br />IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEID TWELVE Tfi0U5AND SEVEN HUNDRID <br />FORTY-SIX DOLLARS AND THIRTY CENTS ($12,746.30) FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE (131) BICYCLE GRATES, REJECTING ALL OTHII2 SIDS <br />AND DECLARING AN IIMERGENCY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. In accordance with bids received pursuant to advertisement as <br />required by law, East Jordon Iron Works is hereby declared to be the lowest <br />and best bidder for the sale to the Municipality of one hundred thirty-one <br />(131) bicycle grates. <br />SECTION 2. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a purchase agreement with East Jordon Iron Works in an <br />amount not to exceed Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred Forty-Six Dollars and <br />Thirty Cents ($12,746.30) provided that said purchase agreement is in accor- <br />dance with the specifications upon which the bid was received. <br />SECTION 3. All other bids received are hereby rejected. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 5. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of <br />the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for'the reason that the purchase <br />authorized herein is necessary to maintain safety for cyclists and pedestrians <br />within the Municipality.
