08/18/89 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-57 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING TAE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO <br />MAKE PAYMENT TO AMERICAN FIREWORKS COMPANY <br />IN THE AMOUNT OE FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) FOR THE <br />1989 MAYFIELD VILLAGE HOMIDAYS <br />AND DECLARING AN II9ERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, it was necessary to arrange and contract for the personal <br />services and materials necessary to conduct the 1989 Mayfield Village Homedays <br />fireworks display; and <br />WFII?+REAS, informal quotations were received to conduct the 1989 Mayfield <br />Village Homedays fireworks display; and <br />WHEREAS, it was necessary to contract for such services so that Mayfield <br />Village would be assured of having a reputable contractor for a reasonable <br />price for the homedays celebration; and <br />WFEREAS, American Fireworks Company contracted with Mayfield Village to <br />provide fireworks and personal services in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars <br />($5,000.00); now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, TFiAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to <br />pay to American Fireworks Company the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) <br />for the personal services and materials necessary to conduct the 1989 Mayfield <br />Village Homedays Fireworks Display. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reasons set forth in the preamble above.
