08/18/89 RESOLUTION N0. 89-57 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TAE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO MAKE PAYMENT TO AMERICAN FIREWORKS COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OE FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) FOR THE 1989 MAYFIELD VILLAGE HOMIDAYS AND DECLARING AN II9ERGENCY WHEREAS, it was necessary to arrange and contract for the personal services and materials necessary to conduct the 1989 Mayfield Village Homedays fireworks display; and WFII?+REAS, informal quotations were received to conduct the 1989 Mayfield Village Homedays fireworks display; and WHEREAS, it was necessary to contract for such services so that Mayfield Village would be assured of having a reputable contractor for a reasonable price for the homedays celebration; and WFEREAS, American Fireworks Company contracted with Mayfield Village to provide fireworks and personal services in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00); now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, TFiAT: SECTION 1. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to pay to American Fireworks Company the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the personal services and materials necessary to conduct the 1989 Mayfield Village Homedays Fireworks Display. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reasons set forth in the preamble above.
