08/18/89 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89- 58 <br />INTRODUCID BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO <br />MAKE PAYMENT TO PARADE FLOAT BUILDER FOR <br />THE RENTAL OF THREE (3) FLOATS FOR THE <br />1989 MAYFIELD VILLAGE HOMIDAYS <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, it was necessary to arrange and contract for the rental of three <br />(3) floats for the 1989 Mayfield Village Home Days Parade; and <br />WHEREAS, it was necessary to contract for such rental so that the Village <br />would be assured of providing a safe transport of the floats for a reasonable <br />price in the Mayfield Village Homeday Parade; and <br />WHEREAS, such contract was offset by donations from local businesses and <br />merchants in the amount o£ Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, Parade Float Builders agreed to provide for the rental of three <br />(3) floats for the 1989 Mayfield Village Homedays for a total amount of Four <br />Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars ($4,850.00); now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, TAAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to <br />pay to Parade Float Builders the sum of Four Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty <br />Dollars ($4,850.00) for the rental of three (3) floats for the 1989 Mayfield <br />Village Homedays. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations o£ this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that the payment authorized herein is <br />necessary for the Village to meet its contractual obligations.
