RESOLUTION N0. 89-66 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPLY <br />FOR ISSUE 2 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE <br />THROUGH CUYAHOGA COUNTY TO OFFSET THE COSTS <br />OF IMPROVII4ENTS TO THE BEECH HILL PUMP STATION <br />AND DECLARING AND EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the residents and businesses of May£ield Village have respect- <br />fully experienced problems with the sanitary sewer system; and <br />WHEREP.S, Mayfield Village has initiated a law suit against the Northeast <br />Ohio Regional Sewer District in order to stop the continuing threat to the <br />environment; and <br />WHEREAS, a temporary measure to curtail such spillage would cost in <br />excess of Three Hundred Sixty Five Thousand Dollars ($365,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council is desirous of applying through Cuyahoga <br />County for Issue 2 Financial Assistance to offset the costs of such improve- <br />ments, now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for Issue 2 Financial <br />Assistance through Cuyahoga County to offset the costs o£ such improvements to <br />the Beech Hill Pump Station. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at <br />open meetings o£ this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and o£ <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason stated in the Preamble.
