10/6/89 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-67 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND <br />AUTfiORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A BID <br />FOR THE PURCAASE OF A FIRE/POLICE RADIO CONSOLE <br />FROM WESTERN RESERVE COMMUNICATIONS IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF TWENTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($24,000.00) <br />WfEREAS, the department heads of the safety forces have reported that the <br />radio console that services the emergency calls from the residents and <br />transients of Mayfield Village is no longer operational; and <br />WHEREAS, the radio console is required to handle all police and fire <br />calls within Mayfield Village; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to provide £or the efficient operation of the safety <br />force, it was determined that such equipment must comply with certain <br />specifications; and <br />WHF.REAS, said equipment is only available from a limited number of <br />suppliers that comply with such specifications; and <br />WHFRF.AS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has received an informal bid from <br />Western Reserve Communications to provide such equipment in the amount of <br />Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has an immediate need for the purchase <br />of the fire/police radio console; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council is hereby authorized to <br />enter into an agreement with Western Reserve Communications for the purchase <br />of the £ire/police radio console in the amount of Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars <br />($24,000.00), in accordance with the informal bid submitted by said Company, <br />and without advertising further for competitive bids. The Council finds and <br />determines that said equipment is of an emergency nature requiring immediate <br />purchase of such equipment from said Company. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open
