RESOLUTION N0. 89-76 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />PROCLAIMING DECEMBER 3RD - DECEMBER 9TH <br />AS NATIONAL CITIES FIGHT BACK <br />AGAINST DRUGS WEEK <br />WHEREAS, drug abuse is considered by many to be the most serious problem <br />in our country today; <br />WIiEREAS, the Hillcrest Council has recommended that legislation be <br />adopted in each of its communities supporting December 3rd - December 9th as <br />National Cities Fight Back Against Drugs Week; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have joined together in support of such <br />program and do hereby set forth their resolve; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Council hereby join together to declare <br />the week of December 3rd - December 9th as "National Cities Fight Back Against <br />Drugs Week", and to urge every resident of Mayfield Village to strongly <br />support law enforcement, socially oriented programs and educational programs <br />to assist in ridding our community of drugs which are in violation of law. <br />SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy of this Resolution to the Clerks of Councils for all communi- <br />ties in the Hillcrest Area and to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, News Herald and <br />the Sun Newspapers. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all £ormal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption o£ this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
