RESOLUTION N0. 89-78 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Who1e. <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE <br />AKZO SALT INCORPORATED FOR THE SALE TO THE <br />MUNICIPALITY OF ROAD SALT ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TAE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Council President are hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into an agreement with Akzo Salt Incorporated for the <br />purchase of road salt, on an as needed basis, in an amount not to exceed <br />Twenty-Five Dollars and Seventy Cents ($25.70) per ton dumped. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all £ormal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption o£ this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3: This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of <br />the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that it is necessary <br />to enter into the aforesaid agreement in order to insure the availability o£ <br />road salt for the winter season.
