RESOLUTION N0. 87-8 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE GMC TRUCK CENTER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FORTY NINE DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($8,249.50) FOR THE REPAIR OF THE 1980 GMC HORTON AMBULANCE, DECLARING SAID REPAIRS TO BE A TRUE EMERGENCY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have recently been advised that the 1980 GMC Horton Ambulance currently owned by the municipality needs immediate repairs in order to keep it operational; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid repairs are of such urgent nature that unless the same are made the engine will, in all probability, explode with only a few more operational hours; and WHEREAS, the municipality must maintain two (2) operational ambulances in order to service the needs of its residents as well as to perform under the terms and conditions of an agreement with the Village of Gates Mills whereby the municipality is to provide that Village with ambulance service in exchange for jail facility for Mayfield Village prisoners; and WHEREAS, the Village has been able to obtain a favorable estimate for the repairs necessary to keep the subject ambulance operational, said estimate for repairs having been obtained from the GMC Truck Center; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the GMC Truck Center in an amount not to exceed Eight Thousand Two Hundred Forty Nine Dollars and Fifty Cents ($8,249.50) for the repairs necessary to keep the 1980 GMC Horton Ambulance operational. Section 2. Prior to the execution of the aforesaid contract, the GMC Truck Center shall provide an itemized list of repairs to be made, said repair not to exceed the sum authorized herein. Section 3. The repair work authorized herein is hereby declared to be a true emergency immediately necessary to preserve the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and the same is, therefore, authorized without the necessity of competitive bidding. Section 4. That the Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such
