DEFEATED 4/20/87 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-11 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT <br />OF COUNCIL TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH COMMUNITY <br />MUTUAL AND COMMUNITY LIFE FOR HEALTH AND TERM LIFE <br />INSURANCE, RESPECTIVELY, FOR EMPLOYEES OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING MARCH 1, <br />1987 AND TERMINATING FEBRUARY 29, 1988 AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby <br />authorized and directed to execute a contract with Community Mutual <br />and Community Life for health and term life insurance, respectively, <br />through agent of record, Don B. Sommer of Sommer Insurance Agency, <br />Inc., for employees of the municipality for the period commencing <br />March 1, 1987 and terminating February 29, 1988. <br />•~tion 2. The aforesaid contract for health and term <br />life insurance shall be in accordance with the proposals received from <br />Community Mutual and Community Life and shall provide premiums not to <br />exceed those rates established by the carrier on or before March 1, <br />1987. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare•of the residents of Mayfield Village for <br />the reason that the current policy of health insurance is set to <br />expire and the maintenance of health insurance coverage for municipal <br />employees and their families is of paramount concern and necessary to <br />maintain morale within the municipal employment force. It shall <br />therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote <br />of not less than four (4) members elected to Council and approval by <br />the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading: <br />PASSED: <br />APPROVED• <br />.
