Each newly appointed Auxiliary Police Officer shall receive an allowance in an amount not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Fifty Dollars ($550.00) for the purpose of items necessary to equip such officer. The Chief of Police will issue a purchase order as required. The municipality shall purchase for each newly appointed Part-time Police Officer all items listed on Schedule B attached hereto. In the event that such officer is employed as a full-time Police Officer for another municipality, or has previously served as a Mayfield Village Auxiliary Police Officer, and by reason thereof, has already had purchased for him any of the items appearing on Schedule B, ana such items are fit for use in Mayfield Village, then the Village will not purchase such items for the officer and he shall not be entitled to receive the cash equivalent of any such item. 5. Each part-time firefighter shall receive an allowance for uniform maintenance in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) provided such part-time firefighter attends at least twenty (20) drills annually. Any part-time firefighter who does not attend at least twenty (20) drills during the year for- feits any right to uniform allowance for the next calendar year. 6. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all members of the Police and Fire Departments for expenditures made in accordance with subsections B(2),(3),(4) and (5) hereinabove, provided, however, that receipted bills evidencing the purchase are submitted together with an approval for payment by the respective Chiefs of the Departments. The Finance Director is further authorized to make such distributions during January and July of each year for the prior six month period. 7. Whenever a uniform item is damaged or destroyed in the line of duty then that item shall be replaced out of the uniform allowance. However, should any employee's maintenance and replacement costs in any year exceed the uniform allowance for that year, upon presentation of receipts evidencing such excess costs, and subject to the recommendation of the appropriate Chief or department head, the employee may be reimbursed for such excess costs. Whenever a uniform item is lost or destroyed by an employee in a manner not related to the performance of his duty then that item shall be replaced at the cost of the employee subject to the recommendation of the appropriate Chief or department head. 8. Whenever different or additional uniform items are required due to the promotion of a full-time member of the Police or Fire Department the municipality shall purchase those items for which receipted bills are presented together with an approval for payment from the Chief of the Department.
