Carmen <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT AS AGENT <br />FOR THE MUNICIPALITY TO MAKE APPLICATION TO <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY, DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOP- <br />MENT, FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE HOUSING <br />AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT. <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program, <br />administered by the Cuyahoga County Department of Community Develop- <br />ment has made available funding for various projects for fiscal year <br />1987; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village desires to participate in this <br />program; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was held at 7:30 P.M, on March 16, <br />1987 to discuss various eligible activities and to hear comments from <br />the public; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Mayfield Village hereby submits application for <br />the Senior Center Community Room, used principally for persons of low <br />and moderate income. The amount of local public funds committed to <br />the Community Development Project shall be fifty percent (50~) of the <br />total project cost which shall be appropriated from the Village <br />General Fund. <br />Section 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to apply to the <br />Department of Community Development in order to obtain the funds to <br />complete the afore-described project. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for <br />the reason that the funds sought herein are necessary to complete an <br />essential community project. It shall therefore take effect <br />immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than four <br />(4) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise <br />
