Carmen A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT AS AGENT FOR THE MUNICIPALITY TO MAKE APPLICATION TO CUYAHOGA COUNTY, DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOP- MENT, FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT. WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program, administered by the Cuyahoga County Department of Community Develop- ment has made available funding for various projects for fiscal year 1987; and WHEREAS, Mayfield Village desires to participate in this program; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held at 7:30 P.M, on March 16, 1987 to discuss various eligible activities and to hear comments from the public; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. Mayfield Village hereby submits application for the Senior Center Community Room, used principally for persons of low and moderate income. The amount of local public funds committed to the Community Development Project shall be fifty percent (50~) of the total project cost which shall be appropriated from the Village General Fund. Section 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to apply to the Department of Community Development in order to obtain the funds to complete the afore-described project. Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for the reason that the funds sought herein are necessary to complete an essential community project. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than four (4) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise
