The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: A. Shall Article V, Section 4 of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, be amended so as to delete the prohibition against the Law Director serving in a similar capacity with an adjacent community sharing a common border vaith Mayfield Village? Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to immediately certify a copy of this Ordinance to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections in order to have the ballot issue contained herein placed on the ballot for the General Election to be held on November 3, 1987 and to take whatever other steps are necessary in order to comply with a11 directives of the said Board of Elections in order to secure placement on the ballot as aforesaid. Section 3e The Director of Law is hereby authorized and directed to confer with the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio and the 5ecretary of State for the State of Ohio regarding the ballot question anc7 to make any changes necessary to comply with current election law so long as the substance of any issue is not - changed. In the event of the necessity of a substantial change of any issue the Council sha1l iirst be consulted. Section 4. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to either mail a copy of the full text of the proposed Charter amendment at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the election as set forth in this Ordinance to each elector of the municipality whose name appears upon the registration books for the last regular election held in the municipality or shall cause the full text of the proposed Charter Amendment to be published once a week for not less than two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the municipality with the first publication being at least fifteen (15) days prior to the election. Section 5. All prior ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance in whole or in part are hereby repealed to the extent necessary to avoid conflict with this ordinancem Section 6. That the Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121e22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
