ORDINANCE N0. 87- 40 <br />INTRODUCED BYe Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT TO AT&T FOR TH E <br />PURCHASE OF A TELEPHONE SYSTENI FOR THE MUNICI- <br />PALITY, SUSPENDING THE COMPETITIVE BIDDING <br />REQUIREMENT OF SECTION 123.02 OF THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD V ILLAGE, OH IO, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />have determined that it is necessary for the municipality to purchase <br />a new telephone system; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that the soli.citation of <br />competitive bids by advertisement as required by Section 123.02 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio would result in bids not <br />equal in equipment or service because of the vast array of telephone <br />systems available; and <br />WHEREAS, the municipality has determined its needs <br />found that the system offered by AT&T in its proposal to the <br />Department of Finance will best suit the needs of the various <br />Departments; and <br />and has <br />V il lage <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have, therefore, determined <br />that the competitive bidding requirement is to be suspended in order <br />to allow the Village to purchase the telephone system that it feels is <br />best suited for its needs; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAIDIED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLP,GE, pHIO, THATa <br />Section l. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with AT&T for the <br />purchase of a telephone system for the Village Hall, including Finance <br />Department, Mayor°s Office, Fire Department and Police Department, and <br />for the Service Building. <br />Section 2. The amount of the contract shall be in an <br />amount not to exceed Thirty One Thousand Nine Hundred Forty Three <br />Dollars Ninety Three Cents ($31,943.93) and shall be in accordance <br />with the specifications included in the bid proposal submitted to the <br />Finance Department by AT&T. <br />Section 3. For the reasons set forth in the preamble <br />hereto, the competitive bidding provisions of Section 123.02 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, are suspended for this <br />purchase. <br />Section 4. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />f ormal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in
