j <br />ORD,INANCE NOo 87- 43 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE AWP,RDING A CONTRACT TO LAKE BUSINESS <br />PRODUCTS, INC, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CANON <br />NP-4540RDF COPIER, SUSPENDING THE COh9PETITIVE <br />BIDDING REQUIREMEIVT OF SECTION 123.02 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGEP OHIO, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />have determined that it is necessary for the municipality to purchase <br />a new copy machine; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that the solicitation of <br />competitive bids by advertisement as required by Section 123.02 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, would result in bids <br />not equal in equipment or service because of the vast array of copiers <br />and available options theref or; and <br />WHEREP,S, the municipality has determined its needs and has <br />found that the system offered by Lake Business Products, Inc. in its <br />proposal to the municipality will best suit the needs of the Village; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Cauncil have, therefore, determined <br />that the competitive bidding requirement is to be suspended in order <br />to allow the Village to purchase the copier that it feels is best <br />suited for its needs; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section l. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Lake Business <br />Products, Inc. for the purchase of a Canon NP-4540RDF copier for the <br />Village. <br />Section 2. The amount of the contract referred to herein <br />shall be in an amount not to exceed Eight Thousand Two Hundred Ninety <br />Five Dollass ($8,295.00) and shall be in accordance with the specifi- <br />cations included in the bid proposal submitted to the Village by Lake <br />Business Products, Inco <br />Section 3 For the reasons set forth in the preamble <br />hereto, the competitive bidding provisions of Section 123.02 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, are suspended for this <br />purchase. <br />Section 4. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
