Carmen <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 143002 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTAINING TO TH E COMPOS ITION OF TH E RECREATION <br />BOARD, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT <br />HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCYo <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 143.02 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby amended to read as followss <br />(Deleted material appears like and new material appears <br />like THIS) <br />Chapter 143 <br />Recreation Board <br /> <br />143.02 Members; Term; Removal; Compensationo <br />The Board shall consist of not less than five nor more <br />than eieven TWENTY FIV E residents of the Municipal- <br />ity, one of whom shall be designated the Recreation Director <br />and one such member shall be a member of Council. <br />(a) The Recreation Director and the members of the Board <br />shall be appointed for a term of two years by the <br />Mayor, subject to conf-irmation by a vote of not <br />less than four members of Councilo The term of all <br />members now constituting the Board shall terminate <br />on December 31, 19800 <br />(b) Tn case the office of Recreation Director or Board <br />member shall become vacant, the Mayor shall appoint <br />a resident of the Municipality to fulfill the <br />unexpired term, subject to the confirmation by a <br />vote of not less than four members of Council. <br />(c) The Mayor may remove the Director or any Board member <br />for gross misconduct, or malfeasance in or disqualifi- <br />cation for office, provided, however, that such removal <br />shall not take place without the affirmative vote of <br />not less than five members of Council. Council may <br />remove the Director or any Board member without the <br />recommendation or approval of the Mayor, provided, <br />however, that such removal shall not take place without <br />the affirmative vote of six members of Council. <br />(d) The Recreation Director and the Board members shall <br />serve without compensation. <br />Section 2. All prior ordinances inconsistent with this <br />ordinance in whole or in part are repealed to the extent necessary to <br />avoid conflict with this ordinance.
