ORDINANCE NO. 78- 9 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Robert Beebe <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT <br />WITH SIGNAL SERVICE COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION <br />OF A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE AREA OF 6100 RIDGEBURY <br />BOULEVARD. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF P'lAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to bids advertised and received <br />according to lacv, Signal Service Company is determined to be the <br />lowest and best bidder for the installation of a traffic light at <br />the school crosswalk in the vicinity of 6100 Ridgebury Boulevard on <br />the Mayfield Village-Mayfield Heights corporate boundary line. <br />Section 2. The Mayor and Finance Director are authorized, <br />empowered and directed to enter into a contract with Signal Service <br />Company for such installation in the sum of $4,786.00 upon the terms <br />and conditions of the specifications on which the biddinq was based <br />and in a form satisfactory to the Law Director. This authorization <br />is speciEically conditioned on and shall not be effective until a <br />formal agreement iS reached with the City of Mayfield Heights where- <br />by the City of Mayfield Heiqhts agrees to pay 50 percent of the cost <br />of installation and maintenance of the traffic liqht in question and <br />concurs in the awarding of this contract. <br />Section 3. This is an emergency ordinance immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the health and safety of the <br />residents of Mayfield Village in that it provides for pedestrian <br />safety in a hazardous area.
