ORDINANCE N0. 88- 7 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Fred N. Carmen <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION 505.02 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTAINING TO THE ANIMAL WARDEN, REPEALING <br />EXISTING SECTION 505.02 AND ORDINANCE N0. 84-34 <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 505.02 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio is hereby enacted to read as follows: <br />Chapter 505 <br />Animals and Fowl <br />~: <br />505.02 Animal Warden <br />(a) Office Established. The part-time position of <br />Animal Warden is hereby established within the Department <br />of Public Service. <br />(b) Appointment. The Animal Warden shall be appointed <br />by the Mayor, subject to approval by a majority of the members <br />elected to Council, to serve for a term of one (1) year. <br />(c) Compensation. The compensation of the Animal <br />Warden shall be determined by the Council from time-to-time. <br />(d) Powers and Dutiesi It shall be the duty of the <br />Animal Warden to enforce the provisions of this Chapter and <br />the laws of the State of Ohio relative to the licensing, <br />impounding, boarding and disposition of animals within the <br />municipality. The Animal Warden shall have complete police <br />power to enforce the provisions of this Chapter and the <br />laws of the State of Ohio and to make arrests for any <br />violations thereof. <br />Section 2. Existing Section 505.02 and Ordinance No. <br />84-34 are hereby repealed in their entirey. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
