733.03 BUSINESS REGULATION CODE 4 <br />(c) "Manufacturing" means the preparation, processing and packaging of goods or <br />articles. <br />(d) "Director labor" means all work required for the manufacturing of goods or <br />articles, but not including administration, sales, supervision, inspection and shipment <br />or delivery. (Ord. 722. Passed 11-21-60. ) <br />733.03 LABELING. <br />In manufacturing goods or articles where blind workers are employed, the product <br />may only be. labeled made by blind workers if seventy-five percent of the direct labor <br />is blind labor. (Ord. 722. Passed 11-21-60.) <br />733.04 PERMIT; APPLICATION; FEE. <br />(a) (1) No person, firm or corporation or its distributor may manufacture, <br />sell, market or otherwise dispose of any goods or articles to the public <br />which, by way of any imprint, stamp, label, firm name or other printed <br />matter indicate that the goods or articles were made by blind workers <br />or which by word of mouth or otherwise have been represented to be <br />made by blind workers without first obtaining a permit in writing from <br />the Chief of Police of the Municipality upon a form prescribed by him. <br />(2) None of the provisions of this section axe meant to apply to any person, <br />firm or corporation marketing goods or articles made by blind workers <br />on the premises of an established retail grocery, department or variety <br />store permanently located within the Municipality. <br />(b) Issuance of permits as provided in subsection (a) (1) hereof shall be upon <br />application being submitted to the Chief of Police accompanied by an affidavit as outlined <br />in subsection (c) hereof and a fee of five dollars ($5.00) for each person, firm or cor- <br />poration, plus no more than one dollar ($1.00) for each agent or representative listed <br />pursuant to subsection (c)(3) hereof. <br />(c) Every person, firm or corporation or its distributor in the Municipality wishing <br />to secure a permit shall submit the affidavit of the person, or if a firm or corporation, <br />the affidavit of its president setting forth the following: <br />(1) Name, local address and phone number of the applicant. <br />(2) Name, local address and phone number of its president or local <br />representative. <br />(3) Method of selling to be employed, that is, phone, house-to-house <br />solicitation, etc., and the names of individual agents or represen- <br />tatives including solicitors of all types, whether telephone or house- <br />to-house, and delivery men which the applicant believes will represent <br />the applicant. <br />(4) Whether products to be sold axe "blind" products. <br />(5) Assertion that the products meet all the standards set forth herein. <br />1988 Replacement <br />
