7 Architectural Review Board 1305.081 1305.04 QUALIFICATION OF MEMBERS. Each member of the Architectural Review Board shall preferably be a registered architect duly registered and authorized to practice in the State of Ohio, and shall have been actively engaged in such practice for a period of not less than five years prior to his or her appointment to the Board, .and shall be a resident of this- Municipality. Council, by a majority vote thereof, may waive the requirement that a member be a resident of this Municipality or a registered architect for the term of such member's appointment. (Ord. 74-48. Passed 1-2-75. ) 1305.05 COMPENSATION. Each member of the Architectural Review Board shall be paid twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per meeting. (Ord. 86-3.1. Passed 12-15-86.) 1305.06 CONFLICT OF INTEREST. No member or alternate member of the Architectural Review Board shall participate in the review of any work of which he or any partner or professional associate is the author or in which he or they may have any direct or indirect financial interest. (Ord. 74-48. Passed 1-2-75.) 1305.07 PURPOSES. The purposes of the Architectural Review Board are to protect property on which buildings or structures are constructed or altered, to maintain the high character of community development, and to protect real estate within the Municipality from impair- ment or destruction of value, by regulating according to proper architectural and engineering principles, the exterior design, use of materials, finished grade, lines, dimensions, location and orientation of all new buildings or structures hereafter erected, and the moving, alteration, improvement, repair or adding to, in whole or in part, of all existing buildings. or structures. The Board shall exercise its powers and perform its duties for the accomplishment of such purposes only. (Ord. 87-24. Passed 10-19-87.) 1305.08 AUTHORITY. The Architectural Review Board shall have and is hereby vested with authority to exercise the powers and perform the duties herein provided, and shall have the powers to make its own rules of procedure, with the following limitations: (a) One member of the Board shall be elected chairman of the Board by the members thereof, and shall be responsible for the proper administration of its duties. (b) (EDITOR'S NOTE: This subsection was repealed by Ordinance 87-24, passed October 19, 1987.) (c) Its quorum shall consist of three or more members. (d) Its official action shall require the affirmative vote of three or more members of the Board. (Ord. 74-48. Passed 1-2-75.) (e) The Building Commissioner shall attend all meetings of the Board. (Ord. 87-24. Passed 10-19-87.) 1305.081 SECRETARY. The Municipality shall provide the Architectural Review. Board with a Secretary whose compensation shall be determined from time-to-time by Council.
