141.02 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 38 <br />141.02 APPOINTMENT OF FULL-TIME CHIEF; DUTIES. <br />Commencing January 1, 1975, the office of Chief of the Fire Department shall <br />become afull-time position. <br />The Mayor is authorized to name and appoint the Chief of the Fire Department. <br />The Chief of the Fire Department shall have supervision and charge of the. operations <br />and all other members of the Fire Department. <br />(Ord. 74-58. Passed 12-16-74. ) <br />141.03 USE OF FIRE APPARATUS. <br />The Fire Department is authorized to act and use the fire apparatus of the Munici- <br />pality in times of emergency to safeguard life, limb, property and public safety and <br />health subject to the direction and control~of the Fire Chief. <br />(Ord. 69-19. Passed 4-21-69.) <br />141.04 VOLUNTARY FIREMEN'S DEPENDENTS FUND BOARD.. <br />There is hereby established a Voluntary Firemen's Dependents Fund Board for the <br />Municipality to consist of such members and having the powers and duties as provided <br />under Ohio R.C. Chapter 146. (Ord. 595.. Passed 10-21-57. ) <br />141.05 CONSTITUTION, BY-LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS ADOPTED. <br />The Constitution, By=Laws and Rules and Regulations of the' Fire Department <br />revised March 1, 1956, a copy of which is attached to original Ordinance 539, passed <br />March 19, 1956, marked "Exhibit A" and made a part. of this section, are hereby <br />approved. (Ord. 539. Passed 3-19-56.) <br />141.06 PARAMEDICS. <br />(a) For purposes of this section a "paramedic" (Emergency Medical Technician- <br />Paramedic) shall be as defined in Ohio R.C. 3303.08; as the same shall be .amended from <br />time-to-time. ' <br />(b) All original appointees to the Fire Department, from and after the effective date <br />of this section, shall, as soon as practicable after their appointments, complete the <br />necessary instruction and training for, and become certified by the State of Ohio as a <br />paramedic in accordance with Ohio R.C. 3303.08 to 3303.99, as the .same shall be amended <br />from time-to time, and shall maintain their status as a State certified paramedic during <br />their tenure of employment with the Municipality in accordance with the aforesaid provisions <br />of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />(c) Contemporaneous with their original'appoiritments to the Department, all <br />original appointees, from and after the effective date of this section, shall execute an <br />agreement, as approved by the Director of Law, with the Municipality, such that in the <br />event the appointee voluntarily terminates his employment with the Municipality within <br />1988 Replacement <br />
