147.03 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 44 <br />(2) The initial appointment of a Coordinator by Council shall serve a term <br />expiring December 31, 1983. All subsequent appointments of a Coordinator <br />shall be for a term of two years. <br />(3) The initial appointment of a Councilmember by the Council President to <br />serve on the Commission shall be for a term expiring December 31, 1983. <br />All subsequent appointments of a Councilmember shall be for a term of one <br />year. (Ord. 82-30. Passed 5-3-82.) <br />147.03 COMPENSATION. <br />All members of the Commission on Aging shall serve without compensation. <br />(Ord. 82-30. Passed 5-3-82.) <br />147.04 POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Commission on Aging shall adopt its own rules and regulations to. govern its <br />activities. In addition, the Commission shall elect one of its voting members as <br />Chairman. <br />The Commission shall serve in an advisory capacity to Council on all, matters relating <br />to aging and to recommend programs for the aging citizens of the Municipality and the <br />means of implementing such programs. The Commission may consider and make . <br />recommendations in the following areas of concern relating to the problems of aging,. <br />without limitation: <br />(a) Referral Services or Senior Information and Service Center On:. <br />(1) Job placement/skills bank. <br />(2) Medicare-Social Security Information. <br />(3) Emergency services. <br />(4) Telephone assurance. <br />(b) Health: <br />(1) Increased or changing of existing services. <br />(2) Voluntary service programs with medical school, etc. <br />(3) Preventive health program. <br />(c) Leisure Time Activities as follows: <br />(1) Trips. <br />(2) Classes. <br />(3) Exercise programs. <br />(4) Social involvement to provide services. <br />(5) Programs such as dances, plays, movies, lectures, etc. <br />(6) Recreation. <br />(7) Current events in the Municipality. <br />(d) Transportation: <br />(1) Define needs (questionnaire). <br />(2) Coordinating available services. <br />1988 Replacement <br />
