147.03 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 44 (2) The initial appointment of a Coordinator by Council shall serve a term expiring December 31, 1983. All subsequent appointments of a Coordinator shall be for a term of two years. (3) The initial appointment of a Councilmember by the Council President to serve on the Commission shall be for a term expiring December 31, 1983. All subsequent appointments of a Councilmember shall be for a term of one year. (Ord. 82-30. Passed 5-3-82.) 147.03 COMPENSATION. All members of the Commission on Aging shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 82-30. Passed 5-3-82.) 147.04 POWERS AND DUTIES. The Commission on Aging shall adopt its own rules and regulations to. govern its activities. In addition, the Commission shall elect one of its voting members as Chairman. The Commission shall serve in an advisory capacity to Council on all, matters relating to aging and to recommend programs for the aging citizens of the Municipality and the means of implementing such programs. The Commission may consider and make . recommendations in the following areas of concern relating to the problems of aging,. without limitation: (a) Referral Services or Senior Information and Service Center On:. (1) Job placement/skills bank. (2) Medicare-Social Security Information. (3) Emergency services. (4) Telephone assurance. (b) Health: (1) Increased or changing of existing services. (2) Voluntary service programs with medical school, etc. (3) Preventive health program. (c) Leisure Time Activities as follows: (1) Trips. (2) Classes. (3) Exercise programs. (4) Social involvement to provide services. (5) Programs such as dances, plays, movies, lectures, etc. (6) Recreation. (7) Current events in the Municipality. (d) Transportation: (1) Define needs (questionnaire). (2) Coordinating available services. 1988 Replacement
