~F~tiLD V1~
f1 _
MAYFIELD VILLAGE
6621 Wilson Mills Road Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143
ADMINISTRATION
(216) 461-2210
FRED N. CARMEN
Mayor
Dear Resident:
April 27, 1989
Our Charter provides that any Ordinance amending or repealing a portion of
the Planning and Zoning Code must be passed by Council and then must be
placed on the ballot for voters' approval. At the May election, we will
have nine (9) such Ordinances on the ballot. In addition, there will be
two (2) Charter Amendments and two (2) Issues to determine the salaries for
the Mayor and Council. This letter is to briefly summarize and explain the
proposed amendments.
_ The question to appear on the ballot is:
(5B) SHALL ORDINANCE N0. 88-28, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1181.07(c) OF
THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES AND SETTING A MAXIMUM SIZE FOR ALL ABOVE GROUND
ACCESSORY STRUCTURES IN A CLASS U-1 OR CLASS U-2 DISTRICT, BE ADOPTED?
This Ordinance sets a -limit as to the size of all above-ground accessory
buildings in the rear yards of the homes. This would apply to such
structures as tool sheds and garages.
The question to appear on the ballot is:
(5C) SHALL ORDINANCE N0. 88-29, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1157.01 OF
THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES AND PROHIBITING THE CONSTRUCTION OF DOUBLE HOUSES
ON CORNER LOTS IN A CLASS U-1 DISTRICT WITHIN A CLASS A-1 DISTRICT, BE
ADOPTED?
This Ordinance prohibits a double house on a corner lot in a single-family
district. Consequently, two-family homes would only be allowed in a
district zoned for such use.
The question to appear on the ballot is:
(5D) SHALL ORDINANCE N0. 88-30, AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 1157.05 OF
THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES, WHICH CREATED A CLASS U-3AA DISTRICT KNOWN AS THE
RESTRICTED MULTI-STORY APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT, BE ADOPTED?
This Ordinance repeals the section of our Code that would allow multi-story
apartment buildings. Since there are no areas presently zoned in this
manner, we are taking it out of our Code.
