ORDINANCE NO. 78-16
BY: Mr. Alan Bennett
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING PAYMENT FOR SERVICES TO JOSEPH
WIECE AND MARTHA WIECE
Whereas, under a previous agreement with Mayfield
Village, Joseph Wiece and Martha Wiece rendered services
as dispatchers for police and fire units from their home; and
Whereas, under request from the municipality these
services were expanded from May 2, 1977 to meet a temporary
situation in the dispatching force; and
Whereas, the contract was not altered and the value
of these services is therefore the subject of a current claim
against the Village; and
Whereas, it is in the best interests of the Village to
obtain a complete release of any and all claims arising out
of such services; and
Whereas, Joseph Wiece has agreed to accept $600.00 which
is the fair and reasonable value of his services and Martha Wiece
has agreed to accept $1,620.00 which is the fair and reasonable
value of her services, both conditioned on payment being made
forthwith; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
Sectio n 1: The Director of Finance is authorized and
directed to pay to Joseph Wiece the sum of $600.00 and to
Martha Wiece the sum of $1,620.00 upon receipt of a binding
complete release in form satisfactory to the Law Director.
Section 2: This is an emergency ordinance for the
reasons stated in the preamble. It shall therefore take
effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of
not less than five members elected to Council and approval
by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by
law.
Passed: April 17, 1978
Attest
ApprovE
4/7 7E
ate
