17 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 78- 28 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE ACTION OF <br />THE MAYOR AND APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF HIGH- <br />PRESSURE SODIUM LAMPS ON BETA DRIVE. <br />L:: <br />WHEREAS, in open discussion during caucus held in accordance <br />with the Public Meeting Laws of the State of Ohio, Council previously <br />instructed the Mayor to notify the Cleveland Electric Illuminating <br />Company that high-pressure sodium street lighting should be installed <br />on Beta Drive; and <br />Whereas, Council in formal session, wishes to ratify the <br />Mayor's action in so doing; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The action of the Mayor in authorizing the <br />Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company to proceed with the installa- <br />tion of high-pressure sodium street lights on Beta Drive at an esti- <br />mated annual cost of $6,800 plus fuel adjustment is hereby ratified. <br />Section 2. This is an emergency ordinance immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the health and safety of the resi- <br />dents of Mayfield Village for the reason that street lights increase <br />safety and discouraqe crime.
